Inland
Properties
Property in Spain these days is big business and prices
along the coast are rising rapidly. The atmosphere of
many coastal towns has been altered by the influx of
Expatriates from around Europe coming to live in Spain.
Many people now looking for a home or holiday retreat
choose to live inland, not only for financial reasons
but also to experience the “real” Spain
in white-washed villages surrounded by beautiful, unspoiled
countryside. Options have a wide range of inland properties
on offer, town houses, apartments, rustic “fincas”,
off-plan properties and plot and build options are all
available to view. It is wise to choose a reputable
Estate Agent as the Spanish Government have placed restrictions
on permission to build on rural land and problems can
occur if the proper land searches have not taken place.
Purchasing a town house puts you at the heart of the
Spanish village and in the midst of its fiestas and
community life, however, it would be wise to have taken
some Spanish lessons prior to moving in order that you
can integrate quickly. Off-plan developments in the
Costa Blanca, for example, provide an automatic (English-speaking)
community support structure, rustic “fincas”
and plot and build in Spain choices can mean more isolation
but put you in the heart of nature. Regardless of which
option appeals to you, inland property purchase continues
to be a sound financial investment.
