Abogados (Lawyers)
It is vital that you engage the services of a Spanish
abogado (lawyer) when buying property in Spain as different
rules apply. Your abogado will assist initially in helping
you obtain your NIE/NIF number (see appropriate section)
and when you have identified the property you want,
will conduct all the necessary searches to ensure there
are no debts on the property (abogados should charge
between 1-2% of the purchase price of the property).
